Always leave a layer of ash at the bottom of the wood burner. This helps get the fire going better.
Start by placing you logs in the stove. The largest ones at the bottom and the smallest ones at the top.
Then place your fire lighter on top of the logs. Always use the firelighters to light the stove. Do not use newspaper.
Next open both vents. These are at the bottom of the stove. To open pull them towards you.
Now set firelighter off. Leave the door ajar and vents open for 20 minutes to allow the chimney to get hot. Do not close the door too early.
After 20 minutes when the chimney is hot you can close the door.
Add more wood when needed. Do not burn more firelighters once the fire is lit.
